Numerical Analysis of the Influence of Different Flow Patterns on Power and Reactant Transmission in Tubular-Shaped PEMFC

The influence of a tubular structure PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell) with different flow patterns is investigated in this study. A complete 3D non-isothermal model constructed for square and circular PEMFCs, the distribution oxygen water concentration cathode channels, current density, power density cell net are studied. To end, four arrangements chordal (SC), peripheral (SP), (CC) (CP). calculation effective area boundary conditions remains same when performing all configurations. consequent results show that PEMFC, compared co-flow mode, counter-flow mode has better performance provides more power. Using pattern, permeability species increases, so uniform reaction occurs at cell. entire SP CP not as good SC CC models because have higher velocity. Moreover, using pattern maximum predicted among other models.
